O Emmanuel

Seventh "O" Antiphon (for Dec 23) paraphrased from an article by Michael P. Mernagh in a church bulletin:

"O Emmanuel, our king and law-giver,
The expectation of all nations
And their Saviour:
Come, To save us, O Lord our God." -- Isa 7:14, 33:22; Gen 49:10; Zec 9:9; Jn 20:28

O Emmanuel, God with us,
who knows our experience and
who shares in our life with its suffering and joy,
we pilgrims walk
as we make our way to the stable of our hearts,
where we will find You reborn in us once again.

NOTE: The seven "O" Antiphons, Emmanuel, Rex, Oriens, Clavis, Radix, Adonai and Sapientia, form an acronym, "ero cras", which means "Tomorrow I shall be there" in Latin.
